Teamster Scholarships: Apply Now1-09-2023Local 1224 Members, The application period is now open for the Teamster 2023 scholarship awards! If you have a child or financial dependent pursuing a college or vocational education, you should be aware of the following three scholarship opportunities available to high school seniors this year: Hoffa Academic Scholarship, Hoffa Vocational Scholarship, and the Joint Council 41 Scholarship. Since 2007, 51 children or dependents of Local 1224 members have been awarded a scholarship through one of the following funds, including several who have received a full $10,000 award. You can view scholarship information (also provided below) and all of our previous winners on the union’s website: https://www.apa1224.org/all_scholarships_mbr.aspx. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 1) JRHMSF Academic ScholarshipApplication Deadline: March 1, 2023 The James R. Hoffa Memorial Scholarship Fund awards scholarships annually to outstanding high school seniors. Academic scholarships range from $1,000 to $10,000 for high school seniors planning to attend a four-year college or university. CLICK HERE to access registration for the application.2) JRHMSF Training & Vocational ScholarshipApplication Deadline: March 1, 2023 The Fund is also accepting applications for Training and Vocational Program scholarships. These range from $1,000 to $2,000 and will be awarded to the sons, daughters or financial dependents of Teamster members who plan to attend an accredited training or vocational non-baccalaureate program at a community college or other training institution. Programs must be related to a Teamster-represented industry, class or craft. CLICK HERE to access registration for the application.3) Joint Council 41 ScholarshipApplication Deadline: May 31, 2023 Each year the Joint Council 41 Executive Board awards $1,000 College Tuition Scholarships to outstanding high school seniors from families of members of local unions affiliated with the Joint Council. 1) Download, print and complete the paper application (2023 JC 41 Scholarship Application is available here). Ensure both the applicant and school verification portions are complete. Be sure to attach school transcripts or other documentation as requested on the application. 2) There is a verification process that requires Local 1224 to verify that the member, whose child is submitting the application, is a member in good standing. Please return applications to the Local 1224 office.
